Timbaland - Shock Value II ( The Review )

Well, for the first time I decided to write a review of something other than a movie. Maybe I should do more of this stuff. First strike is Timbaland's third album and his sequel to his massive-hit and award winning album Shock Value almost 3 years ago that spun hits like Apologize, The Way I Are, Give It To Me, Scream and others. It also launched great new artists like Keri Hilson and other being Ryan Tedder and his band called One Republic. So how did his effort go?

This new collections doesnt sound much different than his first take on music jobbling. But it is notable that timbo really went all the way with this one.

Intro ( by DJ Felli Fel)

- This one is shit. It has that energy that makes you want it to be, well lets say a liitle bit longer. He incorporated the trademark THX score you here when a movie is presented in Dolby. Then the beat drops and tells you youre up to something.

Carry Out ( ft. Justin Timberlake)

- This one's okay but unacceptable considering its Timblo and JT who had Sexy Back, My Love, Good Foot and Give It To Me on their backtrackings. Crazy Girl ( which leaked days ago but left-out from the album) was even better.

Lose Control ( Ft. JoJo)

- Wait. It is really Jojo and she sounds so different. This one got that cool beat and a catchy teeny chorus. But sometimes Timbo's vocals cover much of the song's greatness.

Meet In Tha Middle ( Ft. Bran' Nu)

- Bran' Nu is brandy and she surprises me with this song. This one also has a tight beat and hooks. A good club song.

Say Something ( Ft. Drake )

- The second single is a good rap song but fails short to deliver a momenta. No Bridge or whatever for me. But I like this song specially the intro where Drake breaks in and "..this shit is all I know".

Tomorrow In A Bottle ( Ft. Chad Kroeger & Sebastian)

- I was looking forward for this song. I Should have liked it since Im a bit of a Nickelback fan but this song is kinda lame. And Chad's vocal didnt fit Timbo's beat at all, and vice versa. Skip.

We Belong To The Music ( Ft. Miley Cyrus)

- Its noisy and flat. Its more like a children song but aimed for adults. The beat is similar to Ashlee Simpson's "Outta My Head" which burried her under. I hope this one would do the same for Ciley Myrus. Skip. Skip. Skip.

Morning After Dark ( Ft. Nelly Furtado & SoShy)

- This is the first single but failed to gain recognition in radios and charts. But I dont know what's at fault. Its a good song and Nelly's verses in autotune fits perfectly. And SoShy, wow, this girl has potions. Her voice is driving. This one should build up. A good beat, catchy tune, and a hilarious video, what went wrong?

If We Ever Meet Again ( Ft. Katy Perry)

- Great Song! This is the only track where Timbo's singing is excusable. And the shift of beat at the end is something to look out for. I heard this would be the 4th Single, after Carry Out. Id say dismiss Carry Out and release this first!

Can You Feel It ( Ft. Sebastian & Esthero)

- This time Timbo tried to turn around and make House-y feel song but still roots back to his signature rapid beats and hooks. This song has potential and a good club song.

Ease Of The Liquor

-This song surprised me. It builds up and next time you knew your into it. The Mexican inspired shifts at the rear is super. Play on repeat.

Undertow ( Ft. The Fray & Esthero)

- The best and stand-out track! Its Timbo and what he does best, cool rhythm. Its sad, fleeing, and subtle. Its a potential LSS. and the best part is it features The Fray. Wow. The beat fits his voice perfectly. And Esthero's voice is haunting. I Love this one instantly. Surely Its no Apologize, but damn its good. Play on repeat, every hour of the day!

Timothy ( Where Have You Been ) ( Ft. Jet)

- This song chronicling Timbalands story is good mid-tempo song. This actually sounds different at first because of Jet's rough rock voice from the start but then builds up as a typical Timbo song. Its a good collaboration.

Long Way Down ( Ft. Daughtry)

- Good song. But has nothing that stands out.

Marchin On ( Timbo Remix) (Ft. One Republic)

- The drums matches perfectly the song. The song was already Ok when it was released in One Republic's album but this one's even better. Worth the play.

The One I Love ( Ft. Keri Hilson & D. O. E)

- Id say the leaked version with Chris Brown is better than this. Skip. Play. Your choice.

Symphony (Ft. Attitude, Bran' Nu, & D.O.E)

- The best song to end the album. I love the verses and the way the singers are introduced before each take. Its good to hear this type of Rap song that resembles the way it is done in the early 90's. Cool.

Analyzing Australia

For quite some time I've been frantic of seeing another Baz Luhrman film to hit the screens and when the news of Australia surfaced on the net, I was on total lookout.

Equalling my own expectations, the trailer was able to draw my attention to become more attentive, if it is allowed in english grammar. While the other critics said the trailer was lacking with substance, as to really catch the viewers mind and drive them to see the movie, I defended, why make trailer that makes the story so obvious? Trailers should be trailers, and in that case, should not spoil the movie's premises and twists, if not in it's entirety.

As the buzz of awards progresses, Austrailia was left behind, not really far, but quiet disappointing, considering its a Luhrman, and its the 20th Century Foxs' obvious shot to Oscar. Then the movie opened in theaters, and the critics were hesitant to give it a zero or have it in a perfect 10, so it sits in the middle. Rottentomatoes gave it a rotten status, but it was close to being fresh, if you know what I mean.

So how did a multi-million film with a director and main casts to boast, and a very-cool-trailer (personal note) ended up like this? I take a thing or two, or more for this matter, and I hope I was able to site the reasons, closely if not perfectly.

First, the film was too long. Sitting at nearly three hours is a pain in the ass, and in the eyes. Well, some succesfull films have long duration, Return of the King per se, but in the case of Australia, there was no action scenes of CGI extravagance or an intense sequences of huge creatures battling in too-cool-to-be-real (I was trying to do away with eye popping) realms, all that the Australia offered is a very classic, almost like a painting backdrops of the Land Down Under, a serene narration, and a cute hopping kangaroos to compensate the long sitting hours. It should be noted, cause that case is at its rarety, but they failed to interests the common viewers, and its such a shame.

Second, the concept of developing a back story in the Land Down Under set in the pre and during World War I (?) to develop a love story and a cultural issue, is genious. But, they lost the focus because they put too much elements and root theme, is it about the love story, or the aborigins? Or the cultural indifferences? Politics? War? Popcorn anyone?.

Baz Luhrman, is still a fine director as he was able to weave a romantic setting in vast dry lands, and create a fine tune of humor, romance in between sequences. Plus, some scenes and dialogues are reminiscent of his last outing "Moulin Rouge", too good I was always waiting for them to start singin'.

Lastly, the movie hangs up right in the middle, you really expected it to end like that, and your waiting for the narrator to utter "..and they lived happily ever after" but to your shock he said "..one day".

The movie in its own right, is not a total mess. Though you may argue, I would firmly say it wasnt. I was not at all disappointed. I was, wanting. And I tried to reason above why.

I didnt have the enough reasons to hate it, or enough amazement to somehow really like it. I was also in the middle, of liking and hating it, and today, that case is unusual. Movies today are most likely to be plain smart or stupid, and australia stood up, amidst the strenous downpull.

Luhrman choregraphed the wonderful "The Musical Is Back" number in the Oscars, and that'd be enough for me to still look out for another Luhrman film.

Hardwicke nixed for twilight sequels

Los Angeles, CA, December 7, 2008 – Summit Entertainment and director Catherine Hardwicke jointly announced today that the filmmaker will not be directing the next installment in the newly minted TWILIGHT film franchise. Summit’s targeted end of 2009 or early 2010 release of the film, NEW MOON, does not work with Ms. Hardwicke’s required prep time to bring her vision of the film to the big screen. Thus as has been done before with many successful film franchises, the studio will employ a new director for NEW MOON.

"I am sorry that due to timing I will not have the opportunity to direct NEW MOON,” said Hardwicke. “Directing TWILIGHT has been one of the great experiences of my life, and I am grateful to the fans for their passionate support of the film. I wish everyone at Summit the best with the sequel-- it is a great story."

“Catherine did an incredible job in helping us to launch the TWILIGHT franchise and we thank her for all of her efforts and we very much hope to work with her on future Summit projects,” said Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production. “We as a studio have a mandate to bring the next installment in the franchise to the big screen in a timely fashion so that fans can get more of Edward, Bella and all of the characters that Stephenie Meyer has created. We are able to pursue an aggressive time frame as we have the luxury of only adapting the novels into screenplays as opposed to having to create a storyline from scratch.”

I am really thankful with the advent of multiply. In here, i could say all I want, and hate everything! Then it feels better afterwards.

Well yesterday (tuesday) was the worst day for me. Greeted my morning with problems that would destroy my everyday for a week! The brain-twisting examination of Auditing Theory and the bad news that ended my day. Wow, that's 10 minutes of hardly pressing the keyboard with anger and frustrations.

First, my allowance didn't arrived exactly as I expected. The result, I was not able to have my craved t-shirt for my wednesday planned get-up. Arrggh! And facing the week with a tight-belt!

Second, I was a bit disappointed with how I did with our Audit Theory exam, though I conditioned myself not to expect easy question when its from Sir Lyndon (lesson learned in our MAS) but still, I ended up with frustrations!

And the third! To my surprise The day the earth stood still is opening tomorrow and not today! Just perfect as today is suppose to be my get-up-and-enjoy-life day, hence, watching it was my prime plan! Perfect for ruining my whole week! Does this mean I'll have to line up this Thursday in uniform? Not again! Argh.

I was watching an old episode of "Ang Tanging Ina : The Series" and I was laughing hysterically.
I remember watching this in my high school and this was my favorite local sitcom alongside "Okey Fine and Arriba".

Just as funny as it is, a thought flashed in my mind. Where have all those folks been? I mean some of them are still visible and active (some are hyper) but most of them are no-see these days. Maybe because I don't frequently watch boob-tubes or their dead (kidding).

And I miss watching decent sitcoms and witty jokes on TV's. These are real entertainment, not strings-attached flying and corn-popping, supposed-to-be magical treats we see today.

May the good 'ol sitcom days rest in peace.

Two more nights 'till twilight opens in movie houses everywhere (except that one along Claveria) and I'm still in doubt if I will go catch it. Wasn't able to read the book. Wasn't enticed by the trailer and, wasn't a fan of vampire after the infamous Maria Lobo (with accent) came out.

But I have this eagerness and curiosity to watch and judge the movie myself. It had mixed reviews in the US, and a rotten status in rottentomatoes.com, but the box-office receipts are somewhat contradicting. (Go check out box office listing). They said that you wouldn't appreciate the film if you haven't read the book, which is of course not in line with my expertise.(reading)."The movie turned out to be nothing but a chick flick of fake fangs", says someone in the forum, "The chemistry of the two leads is undeniably vibrant and affectionate", says another one. The latter turned out to be an avid fan of the book, while the former is a certified macho who loves blood bathe and R rated films. Whose side are you in favor now?

Anyway, I have my own analysis. I loved Perfume: The Story of a Murderer though it was inferior in reviews and I haven't read the novel first. I love Interview with the Vampire, and Underworld which in fact is something about creatures with emphatic tooth. So, I'll go watch it on wednesday, and if this turn out to be good, Thanks. And if it isn't, well Bolt might save my day.

Ice Age 3 Teaser Trailer

Moviefone has the first teaser for Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs,This was leaked on the interweb a week or so ago, but this one won't give you vertigo with its handheld wobbliness.

As is tradition, this one features little fang-toothed squirrel thing Scrat (what is he, actually?) and his never-ending quest for a giant acorn. Scrat's always the best thing in the movies, so it's as gently amusing as you'd hope.

However, dinosaurs? Dinosaurs? In an Ice Age movie? We're all for suspension of disbelief and have little truck with pedantic whining about fiddled facts in movies, but that's some major scientific revisionism there. And Dawn of the Dinosaurs? By the time mammoth were lolloping across the icy plains, the dinosaurs were well past dawn. They were several million years past dawn. Even late evening was a distant memory to their poor, extinct, walnut-sized brains. We're not well-respected pre-historians, but isn't there somewhere in the region of 60 million years between the existence of T-rex and mammoth? They're not even in the same geological period, and those things are big.

What about the children who'll be watching this movie and wondering why their teacher has been lying to them about history? They might turn to creationism for answers. Do we want that? Oh, the children. Won't someone think of the children?!

New Bond Film Pics and Details

USA Today and IGN recently took a trip to Chile to the set of the still-filming Bond movie QUANTUM OF SOLACE, and returned with some new snaps and a few scraps of info about what 007 is dealing with now.

The shadowy organization at the center of Bond's investigation is called Quantum, which helps explain the title that so many people seem to dislike. Being the total bastards they are, this Quantum network is zeroing on "wounded nations" to achieve their goals of domination. The villain (played by Mathieu Amalric of MUNICH) is an "eco-friendly tycoon" named Greene (that's subtle) who is secretly planning to control the world's water supply (Muahahahaa!).

Bond also isn't just doing his job -- Daniel Craig says his spy is taking things personally: "He has his heart broken. The love of his life is killed, and he finds out she's not who she said she was. He's out for revenge." Foxy ladies Gemma Arterton and Olga Kurlyenko will no doubt help him recover from his loss... Joblo review on "Dr.Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!"

Plot: Based on Dr. Seuss' classic children's story, HORTON HEARS A WHO! is the story of Horton the elephant (voiced by Jim Carrey). Horton lives in the jungle, and leads a happy, uncomplicated life until one fateful day when he hears a cry from what seems to be a speck of dust. It turns out that the speck is actually a tiny city called Whoville- home to millions of Who's, who are blissfully unaware that they've been living their whole lives in a world which is actually only a speck of dust in another world. The voice that Horton hears belongs to the Mayor of Whoville (voiced by Steve Carell), who is unable to convince the other Who's of the danger they are in. Realizing that the jungle is too dangerous a place to keep the speck, Horton takes it upon himself to find a safe place to house the speck. Meanwhile, the other inhabitants of the jungle think that Horton has lost his mind, and will stop at nothing to get him to admit that the speck is only that- a speck.

Review: Dr. Seuss (a.k.a. Theodore Geisel) has not been treated well by Hollywood in the last few years. The Ron Howard directed butchering of HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS was bad enough, but as bad as that film was- it was a masterpiece compared to the next Seuss adaptation- THE CAT IN THE HAT. That film was so bad that Seuss's widow, who owns the rights to all of the Seuss books, declared that she would never allow a live action version of one of his books to be made again.

So how does the CGI animated HORTON HEARS A WHO! fare? Sadly not much better than the last two Seuss films. For some reason, the filmmakers decided to fill what could have been a charming family film full of silly pop culture references that seem better suited to a SHREK film than a Dr. Seuss story. Granted- it's been a while since I've read HORTON HEARS A WHO!, but I'm pretty sure the book didn't end with an REO Speedwagon sing-a-long (friggin' REO Speedwagon! Were the rights to the Air Supply catalogue too expensive?).

Granted- the filmmakers (who were also behind the ICE AGE films and ROBOTS) couldn't have really done a straight adaptation as the film would have only been about twenty minutes long. Still- it would have been nice if the film took itself seriously, as the original story actually tackled some pretty heady subject matter. First printed in 1954, the original book was viewed by many as a reaction to the McCarthy "Red Scare" hearings that saw many Americans being stripped of their civil liberties in a frenzy of paranoia which seemed to consume large parts of the country. In a way, Horton the elephant represented the victims of the McCarthy hearings, who stood by their convictions despite the ridicule and threats being lobbied against them. The villain in the story- the Sour Kangaroo (voiced here by Carol Burnett) was a very McCarthy-ish figure in the way she whipped up the other jungle inhabitants into a frenzy of paranoia.

Horton's motto- "a person is a person, no matter how small" had a lot of resonance to many readers, and the book is considered to be one of Dr. Seuss' finest. Sadly- the film does not do it justice. I think one of the big problems with the film is Jim Carrey. I consider myself more or less a fan of his, but his zany antics do not lend themselves well to this story. He basically plays Horton the same way he played the Grinch, meaning that after about 10 minutes of his antics, you're praying for the film to end, Steve Carell, as the mayor of Whoville, fares better. He's way less over the top than Carrey, and his brand of humor actually works quite well in the Dr. Seuss universe. The rest of the voice cast is filled with a lot of big names (Seth Rogan, Jonah Hill, Jamie Pressley, Will Arnett, etc.) but Carrey so completely dominates as Horton that the rest completely fail to register on any level.

I saw this film at a Saturday morning sneak preview full of screaming children, and I was surprised by the fact that the kids for the most part did not seem all that entertained. If you've ever sat through a SHREK film, or anything made by Pixar in an auditorium full of kids- you'd know that if they're enjoying the film they're practically bouncing off the walls. Here- most of the kids seemed pretty bored. If the film can't impress an auditorium full of kids on a Saturday morning, you can imagine what sitting through the film must be like for an adult. While I have no doubt it'll make a lot of money, I doubt this film will go down as a family classic, and it doesn't hold a candle to the book- which still entertains generations of children more than half a century after it's debut.

Their Rating: 3/10

My rating: 5/10 (I love Animated Films and I think this one had my attention)

After relentless servings of humble pie, Janet Jackson at last earned her just desserts as full-length "Discipline" launched atop the Billboard 200 last issue. But where was radio with its support of ingratiating first single "Feedback"? Can you say, "Doink"? Island now takes two admirable steps forward with release of a duo of follow-ups: first, dreamy "Rock With U," a breathy dance ditty in which Jackson conjures her upper register amid cool production ticks and a persistent eight-cylinder beat kicking out hooks. The tad more aggressive "Luv" features persistent synths at the helm, again with a sugary, multilayered harmonic vocal. All said, Jackson delivers a couplet of highly styled signature pop tracks. Now if only radio would remember that listeners like to sing along with songs—there's even a name for it: hit. —Chuck Taylor

Ashlee Simpson sets a date

Ashlee Simpson has set an April 22 release date for her third Geffen album, "Bittersweet World," which, as previously reported, features production from Timbaland and the Neptunes' Chad Hugo.The first official single, "Little Miss Obsessive," boasts guest vocals from the Plain White T's Tom Higginson. The track has yet to land on any Billboard charts.

Released digitally in December, album track "Out of My Head (Ay Ya Ya)," also failed to chart but has sold 117,000 digital downloads in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.Simpson indulges her '80s fetish throughout the project. The sassy "Boys" imagines the Cardigans' "Lovefool" atop a Chic rhythm, and there's a "Beat It" vibe on the chugging "Rag Doll." "I almost wish I lived my 20s in the '80s," says Simpson, who was born in 1984. "A lot of the record is a bit cheeky. Sometimes I'm writing about something serious, but it was fun for me to kind of goof around as well.

Simpson put in a fair share of 14-hour days in the studio; often she'd leave at night and return the next morning to find that Hugo had crafted a song based on conversations from the previous day. "Everybody really had their hands in this album," she tells Billboard.

In recent weeks, Simpson has been busy with radio promo stops, in-store appearances at Wal-Mart and midnight club shows. Upcoming appearances include Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards on March 29, "Today" on April 18 and "Dancing With the Stars" on April 22. A summer tour is in the planning stages.

A man-made virus called KV (originally created as a cancer vaccine) wipes out the population of world in 2009, leaving virologist Robert Neville (Will Smith) the last human survivor in the city and possibly the world. The virus immediately killed 90% of the people on the planet, roughly 5.4 billion. Less than 1% of humans are immune, leaving roughly 12 million people unaffected. The remaining 588 million people were infected but did not die; they instead lost all normal human behavior and degenerated into a primal state driven by cannibalistic hunger. Neville is watched by these "infected" people. Sunlight kills the infected, so they hide in the dark underground and in buildings (called hives by Neville) then swarm out at night. Three years after the virus's destruction, Neville has not seen another normal human being and suspects that the infected have succeeded in killing the remainder of the survivors. Neville finds himself outnumbered by the infected and running out of time. Neville is also haunted by the intense psychological trauma not only of having everyone he ever knew die, but also being completely isolated from all human contact for three years; his only companions are his dog, Sam, and various department store dummies he has set up and assigned names. Neville eventually comes up with a treatment for the virus, but it doesn't appear to work. When his dog companion dies from an attack by the Infected, he nearly commits suicide by attacking a large group of Infected, but is rescued by a former Red Cross member, Anna, and a child named Ethan. When the Infected attack his home and overrun it, he sacrifices himself, allowing them to escape. Three minutes before his death, he realizes that his treatment was successful. He gives Anna the cure (the patient's blood) and they eventually travel to an isolated community of survivors in Vermont where the two give the cure to the guards.

On the night that five friends throw a going-away party, a giant monster attacks Manhattan. The film depicts their attempts to survive the attack, all of which is recorded and then replayed on a handheld video camera. Rob (Michael Stahl-David) records Beth (Odette Yustman) after sleeping with her for the first time. The video, being recorded over, then cuts to one month later, where Rob's brother Jason (Mike Vogel) and his girlfriend Lily (Jessica Lucas) are planning a surprise going-away party for Rob, who has accepted a job in Japan. Jason gives "Hud" (T. J. Miller) the task of documenting Rob's last night in the United States and recording farewell messages to Rob from party guests. Hud also attempts to attract the attention of Marlena (Lizzy Caplan), his love interest. A confrontation occurs between Rob and Beth after it is revealed that the two friends had sex with each other, and Beth leaves the party with her date. The building suddenly shakes, a loud noise is heard, and large parts of the city briefly lose power. From the roof, the friends see a large explosion in the distance and they flee to the street, where the head of the Statue of Liberty lands as further explosions and a gigantic creature is glimpsed in the distance. As the friends attempt to leave Manhattan via the Brooklyn Bridge, they stop when Rob receives a phone call from Beth, who is trapped in her apartment. Jason is killed when the creature destroys the bridge. U.S. Military ground forces arrive to battle the creature, while Rob and his remaining friends resolve to rescue Beth. As they make their way to Beth's apartment, they are attacked by smaller insect-like creatures in the subway tunnel. During the scuffle, Marlena is bitten by one while saving Hud. Eventually the group finds shelter and reaches a US Army field hospital. Marlena begins to bleed through various orifices and is dragged off behind a screen where her stomach then explodes. The surviving friends resolve to continue to Beth's apartment, but before they leave, a soldier warns them of the government's "Hammer Down" policy: if the military cannot contain the creature, the entire island of Manhattan will be bombed. After receiving information regarding the ongoing evacuation of the city, the remaining three friends continue to Beth's apartment, which has nearly toppled. Finding Beth alive, but injured, they make their way to the evacuation site, where Lily is placed in the last seat of a departing helicopter. Rob, Beth and Hud board another helicopter, which is damaged by the creature during a military assault, and crashes in Central Park. They survive the crash, but Hud is killed by the creature after inadvertently filming it close up. Taking the camera, Rob and Beth take shelter under a bridge, where they each briefly address anyone who might find the film. Air-raid sirens sound, and an explosion collapses the bridge, partially covering the camera with debris. Rob and Beth proclaim their love for each other before a second explosion completely covers the camera in rubble. The final scene returns to the recorded-over footage from the month before, where Rob and Beth are enjoying a date at Coney Island. Something splashes into the water on the horizon, hinting at the monster's origins.

Dusty and Covered
Resident Evil:Extinction (review)

I have been a fanatic of this movie franchise since it started with the first one. It has the innards that i love (if not to die) to gaze in a movie. The blood spills party, outrageous zombies and gory-themed thrills. I have seen the 2nd movie "Apocalypse" for like 5 times? And still would'nt get jaded of watching my fair-haired building scene, the one where a girl lurched out of the building because she can't flee the troop of flesh-eating brainless creatures, conspicuously known as Zombies. Yum!

The third outing of the movie is quite enthralling but not satisfying. It did have a lot of gory and loathsome scenes which I pant for in a movie plus the nifty VFX they did in the crow-burning part. That was like the most frantic, jaw-droppin fire scene I've ever seen. But the flick is not as collosal and intensifying than the 2nd (the best of its series), it did surpassed the intoxicating underground scenes of the first film, but it lacked the intensity and thrills that the 2nd film offered, the creatures (other than zombies) in this 3rd installment is shlep outmatched compared to the creatures in the 2nd film.. who would be scared of crows? I mean they're just birds.

It is also alarming to note that some scenes are a little folly and off. The part where they mounted a ruined, grubby, and deserted Vegas started as convincingly lavish with all the burried buildings and road signs but twists the scenario by showing a weathered Statue Of Liberty and partly sand-drowned Eiffel Tower, since when did those transferred in Vegas? If their trying to flabbergast the audience by showing impressive CGI replica of those landmarks,
then they were a dead-duck. Its disturbing.

The climactic duel between Alice and the mutated Scientist is not captivating and riveting, its very dark (no points for lighting) and the CGI is weak, it's like Doom. And the scientists' character was not acted well, the actor who played the role was ineffective in convincing the audience that he is fearsome. (not even a short-lived momentum he did)

I hate the fact also that Ashanti appeared only for 25 minutes(?). I'm not a prodigious fan of her but It was exciting to know that she's part of the film. But sadly she was killed too early before she could even establish her own character.What was her name in the film again?

The movie, I shall say is not generally platitudinous or a waste of money, it also has effectiveness in creeping the viewers. And some scenes are also bodacious and impressive. (i.e. the crow scene). But for me who have been an avid follower of this movie, I found it disappointing. Apocalypse is still my favorite.

Kim & Gerald lost to Zombies

The ostentatious launching of the touted most "promising" and "hottest" (if not boiling) loveteam in their first movie starrer failed to evoke the viewers as they favor the last installment of the movie rendition of the hit Sega computer game "Resident Evil: Extinction" over KimGerald's "I've Fallen for you" by almost $80,000 difference.

Extinction posted a total $390, 810 five-day gross vied with I've Fallen for you's scant $309,212 posting. It's also disappointing to note that "I've Fallen.." opened with 50 screens all over the Philippines compared to Extinction's 35, which expected to give "I've Fallen.." a greater leeway in leading the local box-office but the results tell otherwise.

In terms of esteem, I've Fallen for you was lucidly given much advertisements, the movie's teasers are shown almost every commercial gaps of ABS-CBN's TV shows, compared to Extinction which was publicized only through posters in the malls, newspapers, and minimal advents of teasers on TV's.

The previous movie offering of Star Cinema "A Love Story" did well in the local box-office with an opening of almost $1.5 milllion 5-day gross. The last flick KimGerlad appeared in "First Day High" was also a ho hum in the box-office.

Well, It's a stupendous news to the makers of Resident Evil specially Milla Jovovich and the zombies who beat the hell out of the country's most bankable loveteam. The least thing they can do to buttress their sweep is to never make another installment of the flick. And for the Star Cinema why say that the movie is a "mega-blockbuster-hit" when the number tells the contrary?

Milla Jovovich and the zombies latest tie-up made a tremendous victory , enough in making them today's hottest screen gems and the country's #1 loveteam, placing Kim and Gerald in #2! Peace.

Lionsgate has released the first official still from SAW 4, and I'll be damned if that doesn't look like a pig woman sitting in some sort of new-wave wheelchair, with pictures of the dude she's been stalking plastered all over her wall. Ya, good luck getting him! You're a pig-lady for f*ck's sake! The only thing I don't get is how can the time be 89:16? Is this some sort of alternate dimension? Has the SAW franchise gone sci-fi on us?

This being a SAW movie, I doubt it, and what we're really looking at is probably just another one of Jigsaw's ingenius torture mechanisms, and when that timer hits zero, this broad is most likely done for. How do I know it's a broad? Check out the heels. The process of deduction, my friends. SAW 4 comes out on October 26th.

Maroon 5 sets record

With the largest jump to No. 1 in the history of the Billboard Hot 100, Maroon 5 scores its first chart-topper as "Makes Me Wonder" soars 64-1.

The move was fueled by digital sales of 243,500 downloads and a No. 1 debut on Hot Digital Songs. Kelly Clarkson held the previous record for the largest jump to No. 1 on the Hot 100 when she moved 52-1 with "A Moment Like This" in October 2002.

Last week's Hot 100 leader, Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend," drops to No. 2, although the parent RCA album, "The Best Damn Thing," remains No. 1 on The Billboard 200 for a second week. Timbaland's "Give It to Me" featuring Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake is down 2-3, while T-Pain's "Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin')" inches up 5-4. Honestly,I am not a Spiderman movie fanatic. I watched the 2nd sequel, because my close friend came to visit and she invited me to watch the film and I could'nt say no for we've never seen each other for almost a year..and besides she paid my ticket.

So there I was, falling in line along with a bunch of kids, pre-teens, teens, couples and elders , name it, they all came to see Peter Parker. They didn't mind the excruciating long line in buying tickets, not to mention the long line again in entering the theater, even if the malls (almost all of them) opened all their cinemas with only one movie, (that is Spidey 3) the crowd is still like that of a rally..and the word "accomodation" is close enough not to be felt.

Well so much for that. As I expected, the movie was really good! Entertainment is given one notch higher than the usual watch-and-enjoy theme. The theater was filled with, "Woah!",Woh!","Awesome!" and "God!wheres my popcorn?!"Yeah, the tiry falling in line suffering outside was given full justice.

But, as a movie fan. There's still some flaws I observed, well maybe It's just that I am not really that big fan of Spidey that's why I look for flaws or I'm watching a hollywood movie and I just can't believe there's still some imperfections. .

First, the scene where Spidey and Venom fought for the first time, (that is when Spidey was rescuing MJ and Venom came and unmasked him..and "beautifully" fought with each other) the CGI made Spidey was so obvious and you could really tell which one is real spidey and which one is not. Maybe it's a mistake they took off spidey's mask for when they did a fight scene with spidey in a complete costume..it was perfect.

Second,the crowd of people watching Spidey battles in the climax are just below the fighting area. Picture this, Spidey, Venom , MJ screaming for help in a taxi,and a truck are above strangled in a huge web, and below are people watching and taking pictures, and medias covering the incident, and believe me, there were also children! Isn't that a little off?

Third, how did a crane got on the top of a building? I know it's crazy for me to mind that, but I was just bothered how.

Fourth, when the black thing (?) covered spidey and made him black too..he was wearing his red suit that I presume changed it's color into black when Spidey was taken over. But how come on the next scene both the black and red costume was shown giving Peter the freedom to choose? Then I said "Huh?".

But either way, I enjoyed the film. This third film is filled with great scenes, comedy and dramas. I think this one is more dramatic than the first 2, (my friend cried twice in the movie). Sam Raimi was really good, the visuals are rich, the musical scores are hair-raising and truly cinematic, the soundtrack was nice and the cast was really fit. Bryce Dallas Howard is so beautiful and charming and James Franco is freakin sexy! (It's not what you're thinking). I wish I have his built. I promise, I wont be evil.

If you haven't seen this movie, don't be discouraged or even be bothered with this review, it's really nothing..I'm still young with this stuff, believe me, I still have to count more years to be credible.

Spiderman 3, like the first 2 movies presents rich-visuals, excellent SFX, breath-taking fight scenes, and clean humors. Flourished with really emotional moments giving it more serious and not for-profit-only touch, this one has a real heartfelt story.

Sequels are a gamble if it would surpass the achievements made by the first..or would it be just a stain on the original. Here are some of the future flicks which are sequels..

THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM (2007)

Now, in the new chapter of this espionage series, Bourne will hunt down his past in order to find a future. He must travel from Moscow, Paris, Madrid and London to Tangier and New York City as he continues his quest to find the real Jason Bourne--all the while trying to outmaneuver the scores of cops, federal officers and Interpol agents with him in their crosshairs.

OCEAN's THIRTEEN (2007)

Reuben Tishkoff stumbles into uncharted territory when he makes the mistake of planning to build a hotel with one of Las Vegas' most hated businessman, Willy Banks. Additionally, Indy's love interests from the first two films, Karen Allen and Kate Capshaw, pop up in cameo roles.

Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend" scores the artist her first Hot 100 chart-topper as it moves 3-1, a day after its parent album, "The Best Damn Thing" (RCA), debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200.

"Girlfriend" was fueled by 156,000 digital downloads and becomes Lavigne's fifth top 10 on the Hot 100. Her prior best showing was with "Complicated," which peaked at No. 2 in 2002.

ANNASOPHIA ROBB : A CLOSER LOOK

BIOGRAPHY
For some actors a career in film seems to be in the cards from the very beginning; such was the case with early bloomer AnnaSophia Robb. The only child of an architect and an interior designer, Robb knew from the age of five that she was destined for a career as an entertainer. A Denver, CO native who never wavered in her determination to succeed, Robb convinced her parents to let her take an acting class before setting out on her first round of L.A. auditions in 2003. It was during this time that her new manager and agent team would help young Robb successfully navigate the Hollywood audition scene, her family living in a modest guest house as her father worked and her mother took Robb to auditions during the daytime hours. By the end of the summer, Robb had attended no less than 42 auditions and had landed her first role as a Bratz-loving Happy Meal fan in a McDonald's commercial.

Due to the success of her first voyage west, it didn't take much to encourage Robb to come back to Hollywood in the spring, and after receiving notice that auditions were being held for Wayne Wang's Because of Winn-Dixie, it was time to gas up the car for the long haul once again. Fate seemed to play a curious role during the trip when her father pulled out a stack of librarian-recommended books on tape that he had rented only to find the recorded version of the best-selling Kate DiCamillo novel sitting right on top, and before long Robb was preparing to help bring Dixie to the big screen. Having previously played the lead in the made-for-television movie Samantha: An American Girl Holiday, it didn't take Robb long to find her place in front the camera, and she frequently credits Dixie director Wang with providing the advice she needed to advance as an actress. A subsequent role as bubblegum-chomping brat Violet Beauregarde in the Tim Burton film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory allowed the young actress to cut loose and have a bit of fun on film, and in 2006 Robb could be seen fending off the forces of evil in the apocalyptic horror thriller The Reaping.

"The violence doesn't bother anybody because it's done in a way that's not offensive," said Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. head of distribution. "People love the movie, they love the originality. The best thing you can have for a film is great word of mouth. When the public is selling the movie for you, that's when you have a real success."

The ancient battle of Thermopylae was the stuff of 2007's first certified blockbuster as the bloody action tale "300" debuted with ticket sales of $70 million over its opening weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday.

The number of movie-goers for the Warner Bros. epic "300" outnumbered crowds for the rest of the top-10 movies combined. If the estimate holds when final numbers are released Monday, "300" would break the record for best March debut ever, topping the $68 million haul for "Ice Age: The Meltdown" last year.

"300" played in 3,103 theaters, about 850 fewer than the "Ice Age" sequel, making its box-office performance even more notable. It averaged $22,567 a theater, a whopping number for a wide release.

The total for "300" includes $3.4 million from 62 IMAX theaters, a record opening weekend for the large-screen format.

"300" bumped off the previous weekend's No. 1 movie, Disney's "Wild Hogs," which slipped to second place but held up well with $28 million, raising its total to $77.4 million.

"300," adapted from Frank Miller's graphic novel, stars Gerard Butler as Leonidas, king of the Greek city-state of Sparta, who leads his vastly outnumbered men against the Persian invaders.

"It's a new-fashioned version of an epic movie. Great, old-fashioned storytelling with all the brilliant use of the technology available to us now," "300" producer Mark Canton said Sunday.

Heavy on violence, the movie had an R rating, normally a damper on a film's blockbuster potential. But "300" wound up with the third-best debut ever for an R-rated movie, behind "The Matrix Reloaded" at $91.8 million and "The Passion of the Christ" at $83.8 million.

300 is the biggest and the must-see film of the year!

Now,folks forgive me for I would not right my own review about this incredible creation.I feel like I am not worthy to write about this film(considering that I am still an amateur)and the film is just too great to receive a review from such person with a little knowledge on writing-stuff(and poor vocabulary),like me.:-(

So,all I can say about this movie is:

"... a 2 and half cinematic festival,with rich visual effects,unforgettable,spell-binding,bloodly imaginative,overflowing with cool!,this film is the essence of having an eye,if you are not blind,then you should rejoice this film was created!!"

Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is the story of the incredible Battle of Thermopylae where King Leonidas leads 300 of his mightiest Spartans to fight against Xerxes and hordes of his Persian army. One big kick ass battle ensues!

O.K., let me catch my breath! I feel like writing the whole review in caps! First off, GO SEE THIS MOVIE NOW!!!! Second, GO SEE IT AGAIN!!! This was a phenomenal movie! Stylish, brutal and you're glued to the screen the whole time! This is what it's all about folks! I walked out of this movie with a big smile on my face, all pumped up and contemplating whether or not I should become a life-long member of Soloflex...that, or shave my belly hair to look like abs! Yes, we've seen the combination of live action with virtual backgrounds i.e. MARY POPPINS (remember the dancing penguin scene??). O.K., maybe that's not such a good reference, but SKY CAPTAIN and SIN CITY are good examples of this "new type" of genre we're beginning to see. The thing is, 300 takes it to a whole new level. I was totally immersed in the seamless world which they created. In fact, they might as well just take all of Frank Miller's graphic novels and make them into movies at this point. This guy has such a unique and original vision that he's breathing fresh air into cool movies coming out today! And oh yeah, did I mention...go see this movie!

Gerard Butler plays the main man King Leonidas. Wow! This role is going to catapult this guy's career! If all coaches for team sports were like this dude...everybody would win! His determination, his loyalty to his country and to his men was inspiring to watch. Butler played the perfect King! Cooler than William Wallace and Maximus put together! There, I said it! The rest of the cast was equally great! All the Spartan soldiers deserve some sort of medal for the most "fit" people in a movie...ever. It almost looked fake, but it wasn't! They were all fit to the bone, even the older characters!

The real highlights were the big battles and visuals though. The battle scenes were epic! Zack Snyder creates something very special when filming action sequences, which I haven't experienced since THE MATRIX. It's so simple, and yet, so perfect. Forget bullet-time effects, this is something completely different and cooler! We're used to seeing action start off in slow-motion and then speed up to either mask an effect or whatever, but here Snyder does the opposite and you, the viewer, get to see everything in one shot, up close and personal! We're talking limbs and heads flying off and these crazy close-ups of a blade just scratching the surface of a helmet with sparks flying. It was brutal, very explicit and every fanboy's dream! It was just awesome! 300, in my humble opinion, has the best choreographed battle sequences to ever hit the big screen! Am I selling this film to you at all? Hehehe...

Finally, the background shots were spectacular even though you knew they were all done in CGI. But that didn't matter because they integrated so well with the whole stylish look of the film with its warm brown colors. Even some of the key shots felt like stills out of a painting. Wow.

So should you go see this movie?!? This is one of those rare films for which the trailer gets you jacked up for the release and then when you do go see it, the movie surpasses even those expectations and blows you away!! Fanboys, the sci-fi geeks, the fantasy guys, the comic book nerds and I think even "regular folk" will enjoy this! Pay full price, wait in line, bring a date, go alone if you have to and buy some damn popcorn because this movie is worth every penny spent. And just in case I'm not expressing myself clearly enough: I loved this movie!

A Lavish Dream

I remember watching the movie musical "Chicago" before and I felt like "Wow!,It's the finest I've ever heard (seen),now comes this movie Dreamgirls,(know what?)...Chicago will just be a long lost memory.

From it's fabulous production number (also designs),the blithe acting of Eddie Murphy,and the luminous performance of Jennifer Hudson as she loquaciously belts the most memorable song numbers in a musical(ever),this movie enamors your deepest emotions and will raise every sensitive hair of yours with each powerful and eerie performances and sequences,from start 'till finish.

Elegant in their costumes,(Beyonce is the most wonderful creature I've ever seen),outstanding musical scoring and compositions,This film was delicately woven and sculptured effectively,from the smallest details (back-ups) to the primed elements (actors),and alas! It's another treasure to keep in the film history.

Effie White, Deena Jones, and Lorrell Robinson - three friends from Chicago - are a promising singing trio called The Dreamettes. Accompanied by their songwriter C.C. White (Effie's brother), they travel to New York to compete in a talent show at the Apollo Theatre. Although the girls lose this first bid for fame, their talent attracts an ambitious manager by the name of Curtis Taylor, Jr., who uses unscrupulous tactics to move the girls from backup singers of superstar James "Thunder" Early to superstars of their own. Curtis reshapes the group to "crossover" from R & B to the lucrative pop music scene. Lead singer Effie gets replaced by the more attractive Deena and is eventually dropped from the trio. The group evolves into a more sophisticated group, The Dreams, with a lighter sound and chic look. They successfully attract a "whiter" audience and The Dreams rise to international stardom. The money, fame, and adulation, however, doesn't bring them happiness.

"SCENE STEALER"
Jennifer Hudson's superb acting (singing or vice versa) is the life of the movie. She owns the entire film and her opulent greatness in every scene earned her an award from various award giving bodies (including the most coveted Oscars) as the Best Supporting Actress (for me,she should be on the list of Best Actresses but she was nominated as support,I think there were qualifications; which I have no idea). Her version of "And I am telling you I'm not going" is the heart of all the parts,she refurbished the song passionately with no holds barrier.It's a must see.

The film,(even if it garnered 2 trophies (only) at the Oscars recently) is indeed a masterpiece.

"Isn't music supposed to express what people are feeling?" someone asks along the way.

"Music is supposed to sell," Curtis (Foxx)responds.

Vivacious and in some point quiet touching. This movie tells us that money,glamor and fame is not everyting,It only means nothing when your not being with someone and much worse is not staying who you really are.

"All of my life I've been a fool,Who said I can do it on my own,How many good friends have I already lost?,How many dog nights have I known?,Walking down that wrong road,There was nothing I could find,All those years of darkness,Looking for some light...."

HALE vs. DUH?

Why would i choose to listen "waltz" and vomit each time I hear "Borrowed time"?
Why would i watch tv,if "Kung Wala ka" is playing,ang turn it off if it's "ulan"?

The answer is very much obvious,I HATE CUESHE.

Then you will ask me why,..
Well, I would say "Listening to music is a matter of choice,we all have our different taste..our favorite bands,our favorite choice of music,and stuffs like that."
Now,when I listen to music,I am relaxed,at last I could hear beautiful music amidst dirty noises of the city..but then,it was never the songs of Cueshe.Ever didn't.

Hale has been my favorite since I was 10(haha,exage!) well,since "Broken Sonnet" I am hooked with this band,they make beautiful music,poetic lyrics and wonderful videos..and nonetheless,they make excellent album covers (Cueshe,yucks!)

I made a comparison between this 2 group,so then you'll find out why would I love to buy Hale CD's and trash those from -nah,Cueshe.

1. Hale: They made great songs like "The day you said goodnight""Broken Sonnet""a classic "kung wala ka" and "waltz"..you would not hate to hear these songs all over again,because they were made with wonderful rhythmns,and not intended for "Jingle" purposes.
CUESHE: Ha,They made hits like"Ulan""Stay""Sorry" and others.Then? Ok,I admit those songs are a hit,but could you still stand to hear those songs again and again?those songs has long been killed by over-exposure on TV's and massive plays on Radios and everywhere.

2. As I said,Hale's compositions are undoubtly poetic, creative rhythmns and outstanding arrangements.While, Cueshe,haha..their lyrics aren't so powerful, words like "So if you'd still go,I'll understand" are not poetic,melodized,maybe.But,Ulan's "la,la,la,la,"might be considered.Haha..(lol)

3. Hale's songs are powertitled."Broken Sonnet""Hide and Seek""Waltz" and others while those from Cueshe,are aptly titled "sorry" yeah,sorry.

4. Hale songs are dramatized by poetic words like "melancholy"or"obnoxious" that drive more power and emotions to their songs,while Cueshe, ahmm, "Understand""truly,madly,crazy""Sorry"..dude?would you like to buy a thesaurus?I sell one.

5. Cueshe makes songs that were maka-masa in theme,which makes them on the level of "boom,tarat,tarat". No wonder why some youth genred radio stations don't play their songs anymore.

6. They hurriedly made their sophomore album,just to preserve the hype they got from their first,but what happened? Unlike,Hale's second was very much anticipated and turned Gold in few weeks of release,why?the people missed them,so they went out to buy their album. One learning "Never strikst out while the Iron was still hot,try to cool it first"haha.

7. Cueshe,ventured into making soundtracks,like that one they had in "Asian Trasures" but the success was not like that of Rivermaya's "You'll be safe here" or Southborder's "Ikaw Nga". They just had another miss,or possibly would make the show fall too,who knows?

8. Cueshe recorded a song in Electormagnetic Jam,but it wasn't remarkable..It's a remake and they failed to re-make it.By the way,since today Hale has never participated in any of those tributes,their songs are 100% original.

One more thing,if Cueshe would like not to be hated by others and (me),I suggest they do the following:

a.)Take a break,reinvent, try to sound anew,young songs are of the same sounds.
b.)Take a literature course,or watch a lot of wonderful movies, or read books.
c.)If you are to make another album,make an artistic cover,and by that, I mean "you don't have to place your faces in front inlays just to sell like hotcakes.ok?

Ghost haunts Terabithia

"Ghost Rider," Sony's comic-book adaptation starring Nicolas Cage as a motorcycle stunt driver moonlighting as a collector of evil souls for the devil, debuted as the top weekend movie with $44.5 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.

Debuting in second place with $22.1 million was Disney's "Bridge to Terabithia," based on the children's novel about a boy and girl who create an elaborate fantasy land to escape from the troubles of the real world.

The movies bumped off the previous weekend's No. 1 flick, DreamWorks' Eddie Murphy comedy "Norbit," which slipped to third place with $16.8 million, lifting its total to $58.9 million.

Premiering at No. 4 with $14 million was the Warner Bros. romance "Music and Lyrics," starring Hugh Grant as a washed-up pop singer and Drew Barrymore as his unlikely songwriting partner.

The Lionsgate romance "Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls" opened in fifth place with $12.1 million, a sharp drop from filmmaker Perry's February releases the last two years, 2006's "Madea's Family Reunion," which premiered with $30 million, and 2005's "Diary of a Mad Black Woman," which debuted with $21.9 million

"This is the weekend that could turn the tide and get us going in the right direction," said Paul Dergarabedian, president of box-office tracker Media By Numbers.

Based on the Marvel Comic books, "Ghost Rider" delivered Hollywood's biggest opening so far this year, topping the $34.2 million debut for "Norbit." "Ghost Rider" was the best opening weekend ever for Cage, beating the $35.1 million debut of "National Treasure."

It's Furtado's second No. 1 from her album "Loose," following "Promiscuous," which reached the top six months ago. "Irreplaceable" slides to No. 2, ending the longest run at the top since Kanye West's "Gold Digger" featuring Jamie Foxx also spent 10 weeks there last year.

Elsewhere on the Hot 100, Gwen Stefani's "The Sweet Escape" featuring Akon rises 5-3 for a new peak, while Fall Out Boy's "This Ain't a Scene, It's An Arms Race" is down 3-4. Ludacris' "Runaway Love" featuring Mary J. Blige, which the pair performed on the Grammys last weekend, inches up 6-5, while Daughtry's "It's Not Over" drops 4-6.

Fergie thus earns her third top 10 solo hit in six months, equal to her group the Black Eyed Peas' tally over the past six years.

Akon's "I Wanna Love You" featuring Snoop Dogg rounds out the top 10, falling 7-10. But he's got another track poised for top 10 success in the form of "Don't Matter," which climbs 30-11 this week. NORBIT tops box-office

How lame has the box-office been since Christmas? Well, let's just say that Ben Stiller's NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM was released around that time, and 2 months later, it's still in the friggin' top 5! That's right, crappy films have come and gone and nobody seems to be able to take the wind out of Stiller's sails, or for that matter, nobody seems to be able to truly enthrall American audiences during the first 2 months of the New Year. Except Eddie Murphy's NORBIT?!? That's right, folks, audiences apparently love watching black comedians dress up in fat women's outfits, as Murphy continues to prove to the world his reasoning behind making these lame-ass comedies (pssst, they make money!!!!!!).

But even Murphy couldn't help the 2007 box-office debacle, as revenues continued to drop for the 6th weekend in a row (surprise, surprise), as compared to last year's numbers. NORBIT did manage the year's biggest opening so far, but is that really saying anything with all the shit releases being aborted by the studios so far this season? Me thinks not. The film was Murphy's 14th #1 movie, despite being killed by most critics. Eddie Murphy's "other film", DREAMGIRLS, is also hanging in the top 10 and almost to the $100M mark. Guillermo del Toro's PAN'S LABYRINTH also continues its presence in the top 10 and is closing in on the $30M mark (and only dropped 3% of its audience from last weekend). The weekend's other new release, HANNIBAL RISING, managed a decent opening with a little over $13M.

Next week's new movies should lean into the box-office a little more than all of the others so far this year, with two pretty big movies opening for the Valentine's weekend, including a very odd choice for this "week of love" in GHOST RIDER, which is receiving tons of bad buzz so far, as well as MUSIC AND LYRICS, starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore doing their "romantic thang". The other releases include the latest from Tyler Perry entitled DADDY'S LITTLE GIRLS, as well as something called BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA from Disney (worst title of the year so far, by a long shot!) and BREACH, a thriller almost nobody has heard of, starring goofball Ryan Phillippe.

CASPIAN Cast

NarniaWeb - The (Self Proclaimed) World's #1 Source for Narnia Movie News - is reporting that the title character in THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CAPSIAN has been cast.

They're reporting that none other than Ben Barnes has won the role. Yes! Ben Barnes!!! (left)OK, I have no idea who Ben Barnes is and, in the interest of full disclosure, I have no idea who Prince Caspian is either. So I have no idea is this is a good casting move or a bad one.

But this Barnes chap certainly looks princely. He's got a part in this summer's STARDUST and recently dropped out of "The History Boys" on the London stage to take the CASPIAN part. Director Andrew Adamson says of Barnes: "He just blew us away" .Filming is currently underway on CASPIAN in New Zealand with a May 18th, 2008 release planned. Let Barnesmania begin!

Flash Director

Shawn Levy is to direct, WB is to produce, and I must mention this, Ryan Reynolds is on it.(Yeah, I must write that since each news about the "flash" movie, his name is being attached, and I don't know exactly why.)

David Goyer (Batman Begins, Blade) announced on his official myspace account(I haven't seen it, and I hell care don't) that he officially drop-out of the project to write and direct the FLASH movie.

Goyer turned in a "darker" FLASH script and it wasn't exactly what WB was looking for. They were looking for a "lighter" take on the character and felt Levy was the perfect guy for that. Both Levy and WB are avoiding the dreaded C-word that fanboys hate to hear - comedy. Levy will apparently use portions of Goyer's script for his version, which will be rewritten under his supervision.

As an actor, Levy appeared in two episodes of "Beverly Hills, 90210" as "Howard Banchek."(ahhm, duh?)

Another Tom Curse

We've been hearing rumors for quite some time that Tom Cruise was looking to star in a comedy but not much has come of it. He was talking to Judd Apatow (THE 40-YEAR-OLD VIRGIN) and now comes word from TMZ.comhi that the actor has been in discussions with Ben Stiller about a couple of projects.

Stiller recruited the actor to star in his upcoming directorial project TROPIC THUNDER but word is that Cruise passed because it would mean poking a little too much fun at his MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE franchise (the film follows a bunch of pampered actors who, while filming a war movie, become mistaken for a bunch of commandos). Stiller now looks to star in that role himself but the two are looking at another project to team on - THE HARDY MEN.

Fox is reportedly looking at a comedy that would star Stiller and Cruise as the Hardy Boys, except all grown up and still trying to solve ridiculous crimes. Stiller would produce the film with Shawn Levy (him again?...) directing. I'd love to see these two work together if for no other reason that just to see Stiller do his Cruise schtick on the big screen. Will it happen? Stay in touch.

Eye Remake

Hollywood is planning to have a remake of (another actually), Asian thriller flick "The Eye", and their eyes see Jessica Alba playing(not the eye of course) but the lead role!! Fantastic,isn't it?

Jessica Alba has found two co-stars for the movie . Alessandro Nivola (JUNEBUG) and Parker Posey have signed on to join the project, which will be directed by Frenchman David Moreau and Xavier Palud.

The film follows a young woman who, after a cornea transplant, is haunted by distrubing visions. She decides to get to the bottom of this mystery by tracking down the original owner of the eyes. ( I haven't seen the original film, but I do have plans, I just kinda losing it in my head when I'm at the video rental store.:-])

Tom Cruise (yeah, it's really him}is producing the film for Lionsgate, who will release. Oddly enough, Paramount has come aboard to co-finance. I say "oddly" because Paramount had full rights to the film not that long ago, decided to put the film in turnaround where Lionsgate picked it up. Now they're putting their money back into it after an acrimonious divorce with Tom Cruise. Alba can be seen next in another medical thriller AWAKE with Hayden Christensen. Filming on THE EYE is expected to begin this spring.

Harry and the Final Installment

J.K Rowling announced on her official site ( I don't know where that is) that the release of the 7th and final Installment on her obscenely popular Harry Potter franchise, entitled "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" (power title,whew!) will be on July 21st this year!

Potter(not the entrepreneur one) fans and crazy followers predicted that the release of the final HP book will be on July 7th as a homage on the book's place in the series or on July 31, Harry's Birthday...and it seems their guesses weren't too far off!

The book will retail for $34.99 which, at five dollars higher than the previous installment "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", suggests this one may be the longest of all (which makes sense considering there's apparently a lot to wrap up). In the meantime, the fifth cinematic installment, HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF PHOENIX, opens July 13th, thereby making July "Official Harry Potter Month".

An Epic Victory

Fox's "EPIC MOVIE" vowed at #1, beating NIght at the Museum, Stomp the Yard ( formerly the #1), Oscar contenders and co-opener "SMOKin' ACES" which hails at #2.

Epic Movie, a spoof of Hollywood Box-Office breakers like Pirates of the Carribean, Narnia, Harry Potter, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,Da vinci code and others ,took an estimated $18.6 on it's debut. Critics were not given a chance to see this film before it was released unlike Smokin which already received Thumbs up and down from various critics, Smokin Aces opens with a beating $14.6 in the box-office.

Another newcomer, the chick flick "Catch and Release" opens at #5 with $7.7 gross while another Fox's "Night at the Museum" remains a strong contender on it's sixth week which nabbed $9.6 beating the former #1 movie, "Stomp The Yard" with $7.8. The movies are at the 3 and 4 spots respectively.

The Biggest box-office lo0ser is the 4th freshman "Blood and Chocolate", bleeding itself with just $2.1 and even failed to get into the top ten.

The movie was written by 2 of the six writers who scribed the succesful "Scary Movie" trilogy, they also wrote last year's spoof of Romantic movies "Date Movie".

ALICIA KEYS's included in a new action/chaos(whatever) flick, entitled SMOKIN' ACES! It will be out in the US this Friday!

DETAILS:
This Friday, director Joe Carnahan (NARC) is back with his first film in over four years. What took him so long? Well, for a while he was busy developing a little movie called MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3 . Fifteen months into it, however, Carnahan left the project over creative differences with the film’s producers. The experience left Carnahan with a bad taste in his mouth, so he decided to take out all of his rage on a movie. The result is SMOKIN' ACES, a violent, chaotic film that just might put Carnahan back on the map.

Alicia was interviewed during their Presscon, here are some excerpts:

Alicia, You've probably gotten offers in the past to starting a movie career before. What made you want to do this project?

Keys: I did not want to play a character that was a reflection of who I am. I also wanted my first film to be something where I was surrounded by an amazing cast. This fit that criteria to the fullest. I wanted to do something that was completely unexpected, totally out of the box, something that would blow people's minds, that the last thing on the planet earth that they would ever think I would do would be– this met that criteria as well. It was very exciting and it totally took me out of my element and out of my comfort zone completely and it challenged me in a way that was very rewarding for me.

Alicia, what did you learn about acting that will inform you now as an artist and vocalist?

Keys: I felt that I rediscovered how tremendously close the two worlds are. I grew up in the theater. My mother is an actress. I was always around the world of acting and theater and I was always amazed the way that people would come in looking one way and transform completely to the point where I couldn't recognize their language and their accent, the way that looked and their hair and their faces even changed in becoming so inside of the character. So, I think that I reconnected to the way that that affects me so much when I see a film that moves me in one way or another, either angers me or makes me feel good or saddens me – whatever – and how that connects so much to what I do as an artist as well.

Another King authored movie is now being buzzed and hollywood fans wait as Frank Darabont’s long-in-the-making movie version of Stephen King’s story THE MIST is finally gathering steam with more potential victims being added with alarming alacrity.

Actor, genre fan and generally cool cat Thomas Jane is already on board as the hero of the haze-filled horror flick, and now he’ll be holed up in the frozen foods aisle with the lovely Laurie Holden (who Darabont utilized for his female lead in THE MAJESTIC and who has experience with battling beasties from SILENT HILL and X-FILES). In addition, dignified actor Andre Braugher will be hurling verbal barbs and broccoli as Jane’s neighbor and (human) adversary.

In case you didn’t know, the tense tale involves an eerie creature-filled fog that rolls into New England, leaving one diverse group of people trapped inside a supermarket. Darabont (whose creature feature past includes writing the 80s remake of THE BLOB) plans to remain faithful to the material and stick with a more old school 1950s monster movie vibe with the otherwordly beasts loping outside the store.

In the 3-D audio version of THE MIST, the lead character was voiced by DIE HARD 2(I haven't seen this movie yet) villain William Sadler!

Fall Out Boy, debuts at #2!

Beyonce remains atop, yet scared enough of losing the throne.

Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" begins an eighth week at No. 1 on the Hot 100 but barely edges out Fall Out Boy's "This Ain't a Scene, It's An Arms Race," which debuts at No. 2 thanks to 162,000 digital downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan. This is the highest bow for a band since radio-only titles joined the chart in December 1998.

Records! Records!
The last group to start as well or better was Aerosmith, who debuted at No. 1 under prior Hot 100 rules with "I Don't Want To Miss a Thing" in September 1998. In addition, the download totals for "This Ain't a Scene" are the largest opening-week tally for a group since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking digital sales in 2003.

Pixar's Next is..."WALL-E"??

I first heard rumors about Pixar's next film about two weeks ago when the rumors about Disney/Pixar taking over JOHN CARTER OF MARS began to materialize. D/P wanted MARS as a project for Andrew Stanton (FINDING NEMO) to direct but there was concern that Stanton wouldn't be done with the next Pixar film until 2008, pushing back MARS considerably. I did some research to see what I could find out about this 2008 Pixar film but was able to find nothing else other than a mysterious name, WALL-E. Yesterday, Pixar announced in a letter to shareholders that WALL-E, directed by Andrew Stanton, will indeed be their next film after RATATOUILLE and that the film will follow a young robot looking for love and a home in outer space (at the above right is Wall-E himself). WALL-E will hit theaters on June 27, 2008. Pixar's 2009 film is expected to be TOY STORY 3 but that has yet to be confirmed by the studio. The first teaser for WALL-E will be attached to RATATOUILLE when it hits theaters this June.

15. The Ant Bully - Out of nowhere this film was made, out of knowledge this film was crafted. and out of their mind; this stupid, dull,and unamazing film was released.

14. Poseidon - The worst epic-tragedy film of the year. The worst Wolfgang Petersen movie ever, and another worst project for Kurt Russel.

13. Bottoms Up - Paris Hilton was as great as an old man dying because of "mental illness"

12. D' Lucky Ones - The worst Sandara Park film of the century. Eugene and Pokwang was good, bur Joseph-Sandara, nah! I'd rather watch a porn movie
than seeing them together.

11. Pulse - The original film was good but the hollywood remake was a curse. A certified flop, and a certified non-sense.

10. Mission Impossible 3 - Tom Cruise was insanely ineffective the third time around.The screenplay was a junk and the cast(except for Mr.Capote- Philip
Seymour Hoffman) was a total mess.

9. The Da Vinci Code - Probably the worst "from book to film" movie. A non-audience friendly and the first worst film for Tom Hanks. The only
thing great about this movie is the musical scoring by Hans Zimmer, and the left was a waste of time.

8. Just My Luck - Watching this movie's like stabbing yourself to death. Ingeniously created, worst screenplay and another worst film for Lindsay Lohan.The humors are too corny, and the sequences are too unimaginative,
a certified unromantic,lack-luster!

7. I Will Always Love You - The movie for all stupid seasons. If you want to die watching a film then this flick would be the perfect choice.
Unmoving, cursingly stupid, and cinematically raw. The film was a total dismay for every one. Lifeless and untouching.

6. Underworld: Evolution - I wish this sequel was never made, I love the first one and this movie makes me forget how wonderful the first film was!
I felt like I lost my money when I watched it.

5. Snakes on a Plane - It was a wrong move for Jackson to do this film, it's a stain on his filmography, it is as stupid as watching a purple dinosaur dancing. The first minute you watch it was already horrible and the next minute, you'd be searching for the remote!

4. Eternity - A certified flop! An unwanted film! Recognized and Recommended by the Stupid Persons For Stupid Films Advocates. Dull and senseless on the first half and a sore for the eyes in the other half. Buy or watch this film and you'll die in seven days. ( Who of us here still can remember this film existed? I was unlucky I saw it's tape on Video City, pls. make me forget it! please!)

3. Little Man - I never like the Wayan brothers since. Scary Movie was their only project I enjoyed watching (because there was Anna Faris). And then
this movie came out, and I was like "Are they insane? Let me see it on theaters and I'll walk out when the film starts!" Of course I did'nt.....watch the movie.

2. The Nun - Actually, I never saw the film. But it's enough for me to say "This is the worst horror film of 2006" based on the ticket sales, weak storyline, worst trailer and worst "The making" tv special, and as I observed
I never heard someone who saw the movie, say it was good.

1. Lady in the Water - The movie was an all thumbs down for M. Night Shyamalan.
It was greed enough to capture the audience attention on the trailers
and make them feel like an idiot little children believing on stupid
creatures when they see the film. It was a total mess, a softdrink-can
throwing dullness and unimaginably insane and lifeless the entire movie.
The cinematography was not great, the scoring was overrated and the
screenplay was like it was made by a 4 year old. The kid from the movie
tells the characters how to save the nymph(?) by just looking at the box
of cereals, who's someone intellectually able would believe on something
like that? The whole movie was a trash, Shyamalans worst and hopefully
the last.

15. Over The Hedge
- Dreamworks the best when delivering laughable animations. Avril Lavigne was
good on her film debut.

14. Stick It - This film is so youthful and entertaining,I recommend this to those sports
minded.

13. The Lake House - Romantically memorable, I'm maybe a man, but I fell in love with this
movie ever since I saw the trailer.

12. American Dreamz
- This movie is entertainingly imaginative, Mandy Moore's most memorable comedy
film! And the songs, awkwardly enjoyable.

11. Agent X44 - Vhong's comeback was never a failure, this flick's a nationwide hit, but there
were just things I dont like about it, I kept on thinking whether I like the
movie or what, and it turned out, I like it but not too much.

10. Pirates of the Carribean: Dean Man's Chest
- Johnny Depp was an excellent actor in this movie, Keira was ok, and Bloom
was more than ok. What I like most in this film is the visual effects and
the bubbly character played by Depp. The film was too long though.

9. Cars - The story was amazing and heartwarming, the animation was superb! But the film
lacks with humor, which I always look in every animated movie.

8. Kasal,Kasali,Kasalo
- I never thought this movie would be great. I entered the cinema with 30%
assurance I'll enjoy it, and I came out with 98% happiness and contentment.

7. The Devil Wears Prada
- The film was to feminine for me, but it was entertaining and Hathaway's
extremely gorgeous.

6. Scary Movie 4 - I've been waiting for this sequel for 2 years, and I enjoyed the film even if
I was alone watching it, the films too short for me though,but its ok.

5. The Departed
- I was intrigued by this film the very moment I read it's article from the
Empire magazine, and the film, story, scoring and Di Caprio and Damons superior
acting is a must-see.

4. Sukob
- This Chito Rono film may not be horrifying as his last flick "Feng Shui" was.
But I enjoyed watching the movie with my friends in theaters, so it was
memorable. I like the flower girl character!

3. Click
- Adam Sandler's best film since "50 first dates!". Contentively hilarious! The
film is a must-see for every Adam Sandler fan.

2. Happy Feet
- The best animated movie of 2006! The animation, the songs, the humors and the
powerful voice cast with high-class production scenes explains why missing
this film's like loosing a quarter of your life!

1. Perfume: The story of a murderer
- This became the best film I've ever seen since "Titanic" the moment I saw it!
It is inexplainably dark. Superior musical scoring, outstanding cinematography,
and an excellent powerful story,it will leave you breathless and amazed
the entire movie and the sooner you see the ending, the sooner you'll think how
geniously it was made.

The Mis-takes of Agent X44

Finally, last January 17,2007 Vhong Navarro's long awaited movie was released and as expected,crowd of people flocked the theaters to see it, and I was one of those people.

Since, D'Anothers. I call myself an avid Vhong Navarro movie fan. I made a decision that every Vhong Navarro movie coming up, I would see it on the very first day of release and the first full show available(that is to skip also the line of people buying tickets during the middle shows), and last wednesday I succesfully saw the movie as what I have planned, I watched it on the first and the last full show!

During the movie, I found some disturbing elements,undue gimmicks and faults commited by the film, making it not boring though, but let's just say,they could have done better.

A.) The way Pokwang talk makes me think of Amy Perez doing her own style of hosting in Pera O Bayong, not very likely though,but similarly...yes.

B.) The effects were not convincingly good, it would have been much better if they stick to the cartoons type.hehe..just joking,Im not blaming Bb.Joyce Bernal..let's just say that the movie (as what other filipino films do) suffered from our visual effects technology's,low performance and obsulity.

C.) The scene where Mustafa made a grand entrance was so typically pinoy, unstable flying and strings attached landing,uh! the fight scenes in D'Anothers during Vhong and Jhong flight on top of the haunted house was great,what happen to that thing?

D.) The acting of Toni Ferrer ( Agent X44,senior citizen edition) is lifeless and kinda-amateur as an actor.(no hard feelings)

E.) The scene after the awarding of Vhong's "Bravery" where the agents on stage danced to the tune of "chickboy" was so corny, they could have deleted that scene and find some better idea to replace it. Toni Ferrer's dancing was horrifyingly 80's.

But, the entire movie was good though, the fight scenes, the comedy, the over-all Vhong Navarro-Joyce Bernal tandem greatness was there, except those things I've written, the movie was excellent, and worthy of payment....and waiting.

I still consider the movie "D'Anothers" the best among Vhong Navarro's films. But Agent X44 was still second on my list.

And lastly, I must congratulate the movie as they have (for me) the most brilliant Musical Scoring ever for a comedy in the entire Philippine Cinema!

PINK PANTHER 2's COMING!

Waaaahhhhh!!! For those who loved the first remake of the PINK PANTHER movie, then you'll surely love this one. A pink panther sequel is now cooking up!! Yup, and they were not even bothered by the news that the first Pink Panther movie will be nominated for this year's GOLDEN RASPBERRY AWARDS for Worst Picture and here they go,with the part 2!!If Beyonce's gonna star back? That's a big,I dont think so?..she's now an award nominated actress, I dont think she'd fall for another stupid project I guess. Use your mind,Bee.

I didn't think THE PINK PANTHER remake with Steve Martin was a total failure but I didn't think it was a success worthy of a sequel either. How wrong I was. Columbia is moving forward with THE PINK PANTHER 2 and has hired Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel to write a new script. Ganz and Mandel are highly sought after rewriters in Hollywood yet the movies they've rewritten include KANGAROO JACK, FEVER PITCH and FAT ALBERT (though I'm inclined to say those movies were doomed long before either of these writers came aboard). Steve Martin will again return to star and the studio is in negotiations with Shawn Levy (NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM) to once again direct. No word yet on what sort of plot we might expect in the sequel though I can imagine there will be bumbling, stumbling and (from me) grumbling. Martin is currently on a break after the last PANTHER movie and PANTHER 2 is expected to be his next film.

James Cameron's AVATAR set with time defying tech's!

"We've been hearing about "James Cameron's next movie" for what seems like twelve years, but according to a recent New York Times story, the "Titanic" director's "Avatar" is not only the next project on his plate -- it's already in production!
Starring Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana, "Avatar" will focus on a paralyzed ex-marine who employs an experimental avatar, one that happens to be a giant alien humanoid creature.

The story sounds intriguing enough, but the revolutionary new technologies used to bring "Avatar" to the screen should prove to be pretty darn amazing. Cameron aims to meld CGI and live-action in previously unseen ways, oh, and the movie will play in 3-D at all standard movie theaters.

Said Mr. Cameron: "This film is a true hybrid — a full live-action shoot, with C.G. characters in C.G. and live environments ... Ideally at the end of the of day the audience has no idea which they’re looking at."

Sounds like Mr. Cameron has himself a fantastic new toy to fiddle with for the next few years; "Avatar" is due in theaters in the summer of 2009."

In Rodriguez's "Planet Terror," two doctors find their graveyard shift inundated with townspeople ravaged by sores. Among the wounded is Cherry, a dancer whose leg was ripped from her body. As the invalids quickly become enraged aggressors, Cherry and her ex-boyfriend Wray lead a team of accidental warriors into the night.

Expect another stunning visual effects, mad driven fight scenes, wonderful cinematography, excellent musical scoring and a good story like any other film of these 2 movie geniouses.

His rags-to-riches tale "The Pursuit of Happyness," a rare foray into fact-based drama for the rapper-turned-comedian, sold about $27 million worth of tickets during its first three days of release across North America, distributor Columbia Pictures said on Sunday.

Smith's movie, which the studio said cost just over $50 million to make, is based on the true story of Chris Gardner, a homeless entrepreneur and single father who eventually became a successful stockbroker. Smith's own son, Jaden, plays his on-screen son.Columbia said it had hoped for an opening in the low $20 million range. The audience was mostly female and older, according to exit polling data provided by the studio.

"The Pursuit of Happyness" marks Columbia's 13th chart-topper this year, extending the record that it set at No. 10. The Sony Corp .-owned studio has grossed a record $1.58 billion so far this year at the domestic box office, also setting a new record, the studio said. Columbia set the previous record of $1.57 billion in 2002, the year that it launched "Spider-Man."

Also new were the fantasy "Eragon" at No. 2 with $23.4 million, and the children's adaptation "Charlotte's Web" at No. 3 with a modest $12 million. (Figures are for the period beginning December 15.)

Last weekend's champion, Mel Gibson's "Apocalypto," slid to No. 6 with $7.7 million. The 10-day total for the violent saga stands at $27.9 million. Distributor Walt Disney Co. said it was happy with the film's performance, even though its 49 percent drop was easily the steepest in the top 10.

The romantic comedy "The Holiday," which also opened last weekend, fell three places to No. 5 with $8.2 million, down 36 percent. Columbia's Nancy Meyers-directed film, starring Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz, has earned $25.3 million to date. Meyers' previous film, 2003's "Something's Gotta Give," had earned $33 million at the same stage in its run.

Mel Gibson's bloody epic "Apocalypto" debuted as the No. 1 weekend movie, proving the filmmaker still can deliver a winner despite his drunken-driving arrest and anti-Semitic rant last summer.

"Apocalypto," a Disney release set in the Mayan civilization and told in an obscure Mayan language, opened with $14.2 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.

It was a modest haul compared to the $83.8 million opening weekend of Gibson's last movie, the 2004 religious blockbuster "The Passion of the Christ," which went on to do $370 million domestically.

Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" climbed 1 rank higher from last week's #2 to #1 in Billboards Hot 100 tracks. Slipping through is Akon's 2 billboard entries,his 2nd single "I Wanna Love You" at #2 and "Smack That" featuring Eminem at #3. Gwen Stefani's "Wind it Up" continue to rise on the list,as it gains more airplays and sales. Will Beyonce remains irreplaceable at #1? We'll find out next week!

AVRIL DEBUTS AT 22!

It's been so long since we last heard of avril being active on the music scene and now she's back on the airwaves with her new song " Keep Holding On" which is an official soundtrack of the upcoming movie "ERAGON" which is to be released this 15th of December. Avril proved that she is still a hit when her new song debuted at #22 in the Billboards during it's first week of radio circulation, an airplay gainer and the newly most requested song in US and Europe. The music still sounds like Avril.(I think the song is included in her last Platinum album,Let Go.),The song was an excellent choice for the movie, it has an uptight rocky rhytmn which matches the movie's for-young-adults theme. It wasn't Avril's first time to do a soundtrack, she already recorded a song for the Spongebob Movie in 2005.
I tried to find a video for this song,but there was none. I think they don't have plans yet in making a video, but after it's success in the Billboard, why would they not? So, let's just wait and see.

Gorillaz new video "El Manana" is so misterious and dark, the video is so powerful that you could feel the pain of the elements. I dont know if thats what other people think too,but for me,God! Its so sad.
The video opens with the floating windmill ,the one we saw in the video of"Feel Good Inc.".( I think its a sequel,I dont know maybe not,maybe yes). Then noodle was attacked by killer choppers and down he goes..
Interesting and cool videos has been the trademark of the group,from the Group's animated appearance,'til their cool and witty songs,Gorillaz has been climbing charts and stages for awards because of their uniqueness. Then this video, I think this would hit another score. Theres no much talked about this video though,but for me..its cool, unique and outstanding. from the timing,the music,superb animation..damn,this video has a lot to offer.

"DREAMGIRLS"
SYNOPSIS: Effie White, Deena Jones, and Lorrell Robinson - three friends from Chicago - are a promising singing trio called The Dreamettes. Accompanied by their songwriter C.C. White (Effie's brother), they travel to New York to compete in a talent show at the Apollo Theatre.
Although the girls lose this first bid for fame, their talent attracts an ambitious manager by the name of Curtis Taylor, Jr., who uses unscrupulous tactics to move the girls from backup singers of superstar James "Thunder" Early to superstars of their own. Curtis reshapes the group to "crossover" from R & B to the lucrative pop music scene. Lead singer Effie gets replaced by the more attractive Deena and is eventually dropped from the trio.
The group evolves into a more sophisticated group, The Dreams, with a lighter sound and chic look. They successfully attract a "whiter" audience and The Dreams rise to international stardom. The money, fame, and adulation, however, doesn't bring them happiness.

James Bond was no match with mumbles' tap dancing. Happy Feet remains the no.1 movie in US for 3 weeks in a row!Happy Feet grosses $17,545,418 over Casino Royales'not so distant $15,112,870. Happy Feets' cumulative gross bubbles up to $121,501,018 still ahead of Bonds' $115,876,024 . The Nativity Story by the way,were not able to surpass Bond and Mumble, despite of good reviews,Vaticans recommendations and other good stuffs we read in the papers. Nativity places to #4 with $7,849,304 below Deja Vus'$10,947,752 weekend gross.
Other new movies who managed to enter the Top ten were Turistas at #8 and National lampoons Van Wilder: Rise of Taj at #10. I hope Happy Feet could still manage to retain its block against huge movies like Mel Gibsons Apocalypto,Blood Diamond and The Holiday that will have their opening this week.
If Happy Feet scores another huge grossing next week and could eventually surpass the $150 Million mark, we could welcome Happy Feet to the list of all time Box-Office!

Yup! The All saints who became famous with the songs " Never ever","Pure Shores" and" Lady Marmalade" are back with their brand new single " Rock Steady".( I dont know if there's an album already but I'm sure this song is great!)

Rock Steady is a genious mixture of pop,electronica like music with an upbeat rhythmn, really like an All saints in trademark. Yeah, its a great decision on their part that they didnt try to change their genre in music( like the one happened for BSB,where are they anyway?), people love their music,people knew them on their old ways so why bother change? Rock Steady is like more of a come backing song with the girls saying" Yo,gone are the days of sleeping,we here to heat up again!"The song was geniously created with no stupid gimmicks and unnecessary ads. A certified hit for another victory in the music scene.....( hope so!).

HOSTEL Part II

Hostel was my favorite horror/thriller movie. Surpisingly creepy and gory but cinematically and sensibly applied. Eli Roth is a genious director who assembles a great cast,wonderful scoring,mysterious settings,wicked twists that totals to a great movie. Now,Eli Roth returns with his avengeful Part 2 which presents all new cast and soon to be victims, Jay Hernandez also returns with his incomplete fingers to join them in their gory and shocking adventure. The trailer was also geniously done, catch it on you tube.

Three young Americans studying in Rome set off for a weekend trip when they run into a beautiful model from one of their art classes. Also on her way to an exotic destination, the gorgeous European invites the coeds to come along, assuring them they will be able to relax and rejuvenate. Will the girls find the oasis they are looking for? Or are they poised to become victims for hire, pawns in the fantasies of the sick and privileged from around the world who secretly travel here to savor more grisly pursuits?

When I first saw the trailer in You tube,God I was strucked with such unusual theme, the trailer was so creepy and bloody,I loved it instantly!! To be released on December 25,2006 this movie strongly opposes to the christmas happy culture and will try to scare movie goers on christmas day! Isnt that unusual? Will move over that happy christmas movie ritual of yours, watch this movie and experience one hell of a bloody christmas!

"Black Christmas" is a remake of the 1974 slasher classic about a psycho terrorizing a sorority house during the holiday season.

Happy Feet:

A movie of heart, passion, music and lots of music.
Happy Feet is a remarkable achievement of George Miller who had the movie unite with the world today and the world of animation. Happy Feet will get your heart and be touched by the movie with its very heart-warming story of courage and faith. It is added with its powerful music which will drive your feet off the floor!

What the movie offers is not just for kids but it also touches the hearts of the adults. Its theme is not just a dancing penguin with a comical character.No. It is the creators way of letting us know of what the present " Real" penguins are facing today and letting them appeal to the human not on a sleepy documentary but in a lively-comical animation which captures a lot more audience.
Moreover, lets not forget that its still an animated movie where anything can happen. Lets not blame those creators. So what if they love making things that are you know, not quiet real. Well why dont you be the judge and go watch this movie. It never hurts to sit beside a 3 year old child laughing even on how the penguins walk.

The movie features the all star voice casts of Elijah Wood ( Mumble), Robin Williams ( Lovelace, Ramon), Nicole Kidman ( Norma Jean ), Brittany Murphy ( Gloria ), Hugo Weaving (Noah the elder) and Hugh jackman ( Memphis ) who also gave credits to the voice of Roddy in another animated movie FLUSHED AWAY which, you know did'nt really turned out well in the box-office despite of a stellar casts along with Kate Winslet,Ian Mckellen,Bill Nighy and Jean Reno. Watch out also for Fat Joe who unrecognizably voiced Seymour the Rhythmn teacher in the voice class handled by Gloria ( Murphy ).

PICKED elements:

A.) The narration of Robin Williams is very "Discovery Channel" but in an artistic way. Dont miss every word he says,some lines are funny.

B. ) Britanny Murphy singing " Somebody to love"makes me relive my Ella Enchanted memory. I love that movie so much.

C. ) The climax, when everyone in the world reacted to the dancing penguins is so cinematic with very great scoring,I realy had a goosebumps.

D.) You could hear the song of pink " Tell me something good" in the opening scene and it was great,really great.

Rating: Not on the level of Shrek 2; but worthy to be compared with such heartwarming animated movies like finding Nemo and Cars. The music, aahhh..damn great.

Things that a man is made to do and not to do..

1.) Men should do the courting except when things aren't the same...aka."Things Change"

2.) Men are naturally born numb. We have sense but we usually don't use,we feel but we usually don't show.

3.) Men don't cry. Except when Scarlett Johannson will be caught in an accident, Jlo will accidentally burn her behind or Britney will finally decides to retire.

4.) We are not obliged to give gifts to our male friends,not even to remember his Birthday, our presence in his party is the most needed.

5.) We don't like to do the shopping,....Men are thrifty people,we count every cents that we may use to play in the net, to buy surfboards, or mountaineering gears,or to upgrade our techs in the car.

6.) We are not obliged to follow our gf or wife's order to buy them girl things.....you know what I mean.
7.) Men should not sleep with the lights on...we like dark and mysterious settings.

8.) Men don't crave for Harry Potter books or want any books, small letters are the most common cause of our headaches and nosebleeds.

9.) Men should not talk to a person they met in the male CR or cubicle. Specially when your peeing. Glancing and smiling maliciously to them is very much prohibited.

10.) Men should not wear neon colored underwears.

11.) Refrain from using foundations or make-ups if possible. Blush-ons and eye shadows are a no-no's.

12.) Men should not wave their hands when saying goodbye. A simple smile will do.

13.) Never ever try to go on any mountain with just you and your male friend. Love is a force of nature.

14.) Never watch tearjerky movies alone. Refrain from showing sad faces when watching sad movies and screams when watching horror flicks.

15.) Never watch porn movie in a cinema. The world has change. You can never expect what you have expected.

Last night,September 19,2006 my former MC classmates had their Showcase of talents, concepts, ideas and creativity as they conducted a variety show which is their requirement and a sorth of evaluation upon their learnings during the 1st sem in their MC1 subject.

I watched the show ,I skipped 2 of my classes (Which one is my major subject),just to see it and enjoy seeing my friends and colleagues before doing their thing on the stage.

I was in the left bleacher watching them enjoy every segment of their creatively crafted musical talk show which at first I thought was a wrong idea because of the possibility of making the show boring and less entertaining when they do more talks,but I came out wrong. The audiences really lived during the show and even participated by asking questions during that segment.

Well, I gotta say CONGATULATIONS to all my classmates and they really are worthy of a thumbs-up and series of applause.

Enough of that, amidst that very hype performances by my classmates,there I was in the bleacher,hoping that i could be on stage too..I could suggest my own ideas about the show and I could play my backstage part during the show which I think is more enjoying than being on stage.

It was my dream before of putting a show,where my parents could watch,even if im not on-stage performing for them...They could feel the show as my endeavor and nevertheless,see me,my totality in that show,its more heartwarming for me,if someone will say "Hey,I love your concept and I enjoy watching it unfold between my eyes"

But,Im happy of where I am today,...

I never had regrets in my choice of switching my course.

I may have dreamt of becoming a director,a writer,a performer a mediamen.But,what matters most is how could I pay my parents and my sister upon their efforts in sending me to school...my only dream is to have a stable job with good salaries so that I could repay my sister and my parents and I could send myself to school again and study MC,or Film Direction or scriptwriting,or Journalism.

That would be my another dream which I pray I could really live with.

Jericho Rosales claimed the top spot as the Worst Actor in portraying Pacman in a biopic and Worst Tv Actor by substituting the legendary FPJ in the TV version of Panday...LESSON: Never do any project involving fight scenes.

Pacquiao the Movie did'nt end up happy by tying up with Mulawin as the Worst Picture and by having a close fight with the latter in the Worst Screenplay award....LESSON: Ther'es no lesson here only experiences..

Who would forget the Philippine breaktrough of horror movies"Feng Shui"?The movie that created a big impact to the different film goers..which started the rebirth of horror movies which that time is seldomly made...after the success of feng shui many movie producers and studios in the Philippines created their own horror movies too..like Pa-siyam,Sigaw and more.

Now,The Star cinema reunited again with Chito Rono to make his follow-up horror movie that is "Sukob". Here the actress of Feng-Shui Kris Aquino again portrayed one of the lead cast along with Claudine Barretto.As expected,(through long and extra promotions also),Sukob is magneting again thousands of viewers that make Sukob this years most talked about movie!!Truly, Chito Rono has the powerful and creative mind in coming up with such horror movies like this.."Hindi nakakasawa,kahit ulit-ulitin mo man"-my friend quoted.

But, for me Sukob did not only gave thrills and shouts to the people but its Cinematography is also striking with Visual Effects different from those ambitious fantasy films.

Sukob also features different very "congratulating" scenes from the movie that I as a simple human being can address as another brilliant idea of Rono.

1. THE NOW FAMOUS FLOWER GIRL. This character as my friends call her "Sukob" is another signature character from the movie (in memory of Lotus Feet) that I can expect to be the most spoofed character in any coming horror-comedy films.(I am expecting another Vhong Navarro movie like that of D'anothers...uhmm,very exciting.).

2. THE BUS SCENE. I wonder why i love this scene,maybe because its not so typical pinoy film at all?or because i love the role of that woman(Glaiza's mother in the movie) which I can no doubtly give the BEST-ACTRESS title done in a non-speaking role.Congaratulations!!!!

3.GLAIZA SHINES. I really2 like the acting of Glaiza De Castro in the film so natural and very expressive,not so OA and very idealistic for any character in a horror movie. Specially that scene when the flower girl's shadow walked with Glaiza and Claudine.

Another, remarkable movie in the philippine cinemas,Sukob really feed all my expectations of a horror movie and really got all my hands up of praise to the makers.

Chito Rono may never win as the BOx-office King but he will be the holder of the all time best horror movie director EVER!!!!!!

New Kamikazees video "Martyr Nyebera?"(am I Right?)...got my attention for the first time in pinoy music videos,i was really amazed by the special effects and the humors of the video that i did'nt stop laughing until the video ended...(got myself asking,what was the song all about again?)....

loud and wild all out congratulations to all the team members behind that video..you really have talent and great concepts in putting up that world-class(for me) music video...

Kamikazee was now rocking the nation with their makamasa songs like the ever..Narda which became my favorite for 2 days,why 2 days?because after i memorized the lyrics and loved the rhythmn...i already heard my klasm8s, kanto boys and even sidewalk vendors singin' (darating kaya?...)

much of that,i also like their catchy song "first day High" which i first thought was from the legendary(ehem)...Parokya ni edgar...,the video of that song is also eye catching (but seen some resemblance (obvious actually) from the videos of Hype Williams which directed the videos of beyonce knowles,Ne-Yo.jamie Foxx and eminem...but i aprreciate the effort..
